Diesel Particulate Filter and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst Cleaning AvailableIn effort to provide you, our valued customer, with the finest truck service experience , focusing on uptime, maximum operating efficiency, and the lowest cost of ownership, it is our pleasure to announce that we have just installed the latest in exhaust after treatment component cleaning equipment available. In fact, we have constructed a completely new bay dedicated to exhaust after-treatment maintenance. This equipment is an FSX "Air Knife" DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) Cleaner. With this equipment we are able to clean (blow air pressure) and bake (heat to high temperature, approximately 1,100 degrees) these components to return them to like-new operating efficiency. we would like to take this opportunity to make you aware of some on the facts about DPF cleaning. All 2007 and later engines are equipped with a DPF, which has been installed to reduce particulates emitted from these engines, these filters must be cleaned at proper intervals of 250,000 miles, or 6,000 hours or less depending on the duty cycle of the vehicle add manufacture's recommendations. We have found that vehicles with increased duty cycles, such as school buses and refuse packers, will require this service much sooner. Many 2007 and later engines will also have an after treatment fuel injector (AFI) or Doser, that is part of the exhaust system, manufactures recommend cleaning this component at approximately 100,00 miles or 3,000 hours to prevent premature ash build-up in the DPF. Left unchecked, soot and ash collected in a DPF can damage or destroy a filter, resulting in a DPF replacement cost of $3,000.00 or more and unwanted, unscheduled downtime. Our specialized equipment can throrughly clean a DPF, restoring the engine to full power and efficiency. DPF cleaning services are available for all -make medium and heavy duty trucksand buses at Goodman Truck & Tractor, Amelia Va. and can be provided conveniently while your vehicle is in for service. We invite you to come by and let us show you this new bay and equipment, or simply call one of our service professionals today to schedule a DPF/DOC cleaning. |
